BANKS COLLUSION AND RAND FIXING, CRIME AGAINST PEOPLE

  • February 16, 2017 | Dennis Bloem

Congress of the People condemns the collusion and rand fixing by certain banks.

We view this as a very serious crime against the people of South Africa. We believe that if this is found to be true by the Competition Tribunal, it must be then seen as a direct economic crime against people, and whoever is involved must face the full law. COPE calls upon the authorities not to enter into any plea bargaining with anyone implicated in this corruption.

Nobody must be treated softly; we don't want to see the same soft approach like that of the World Cup Stadium building scandal. We believe culprits must be punished very harshly.

COPE will monitor the developments and rally all South Africans to stand up against our public enemy number one called corruption. We must fight corruption whenever it rears its ugly head. Ends!
